I’M ADAM JUCKES AND I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FASCINATED BY WILDLIFE AND NATURAL HISTORY.

FROM A YOUNG AGE, I WAS A MEMBER OF THE YOUNG ORNITHOLOGISTS CLUB AND LATER THE RSPB, AND AM NOW PASSIONATE ABOUT BOTH WILDLIFE AND CONSERVATION. I RECALL VIVIDLY, THE MOMENT AS A YOUNG BOY, THAT I CUPPED MY HANDS TO HOLD A CLUTCH OF BLUE TITS, WHILST MY UNCLE RINGED THEM IN OUR GARDEN. FROM THAT MOMENT, I WAS HOOKED.

MY WORK LIFE HAS BEEN PRETTY ECLECTIC! I TRAINED AS A MUSICIAN AT THE ROYAL COLLEGE OF MUSIC, BEFORE JOINING THE ROYAL AIR FORCE IN 2004. IN 2009 I LEFT THE RAF, HAVING MET MY WIFE AND MOVED TO SURREY. I STARTED WORKING IN THE CITY, WHERE I STILL WORK IN SENIOR MANAGEMENT FOR A LEADING TECHNOLOGY RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY.

MY PASSION FOR WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY WAS IGNITED BY A TRIP TO SOUTH AFRICA AND I HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK. SINCE THEN, I HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY FORTUNATE TO TRAVEL BACK TO AFRICA MULTIPLE TIMES, AS WELL AS EXTENSIVELY ACROSS EUROPE & TO MOST FAR FLUNG CORNERS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM.

I HAVE ALSO ENJOYED MEETING OTHER LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE, BOTH IN PERSON AND THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA AND HAVE MET SOME EXCEPTIONALLY TALENTED PHOTOGRAPHERS TO COLLABORATE AND CAPTURE SOME PHENOMENAL WILDLIFE BOTH IN THE UK & OVERSEAS.

MY PHOTOGRAPHY JOURNEY STARTED WITH NIKON BUT I NOW PROUDLY SHOOT SONY, WITH MY SETUP BEING THE INCREDIBLE SONY A1 PAIRED WITH THE SONY 400mm 2.8 GM LENS. I ALSO HAVE THE SONY A7iv AND THE SONY 200-600mm G LENS AS MY 2nd ‘BACKUP’ SETUP.

MY LIFELONG DREAM, HAS BEEN TO OWN A SMALLHOLDING OR PROPERTY IN THE RURAL COUNTRYSIDE, WHERE I CAN CREATE A WILDLIFE HAVEN, RUN WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS & HOST GUESTS TO EDUCATE THEM ON THE BEAUTY, DIVERSITY & FRAGILITY OF OUR WILDLIFE, WHILST GIVING BACK TO CONSERVATION BY REWILDING.

WHEN I AM NOT OUT WITH OTHER PHOTOGRAPHERS OR WILDLIFE ENTHUSIASTS, I AM LIKELY OUT WALKING WITH MY WIFE TAMARA, EXPLORING OUR WONDERFUL COUNTRYSIDE!
